Call to Action: STOP Big Oil Corporation From Stealing Farmland!

Energy Transfer Partners CEO Kelcy Warren lacks ethics and compassion for land owners. His Big Oil greediness is forcing Native Nations to fight diligently at Standing Rock. Natives are sleeping in camps, in harsh conditions and facing brutality during their peaceful protest. On November 14, 2016, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers decided not to approve an easement allowing the proposed pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe. Despite the decision of the Army Corps and a celebration, numerous protesters vowed to remain vigilant in their stance.

Standing Rock’s protests are well known, but an unfamiliar battle occurs in America’s Heartland. A group of Iowa Farmers’ land was stolen via eminent domain by Big Oil Corporation. Farmers complain of disrespect to their land, crews leave debris, and farmers find cattle released from grazing areas. It’s a sad reality and one the media doesn’t want you to know!

However, the farmers aren’t backing down! The Des Moines Register reports landowners are filing complaints with local and state officials. Several landowners oppose the project and took part in demonstrations. Supporters of the $3.8 billion, four-state pipeline, say the complaints don’t represent major problems with the project. The Iowa Utilities Board had received 22 official complaints as of late October.

Humble farmers are fighting in court to regain their land, and in a few weeks, a Polk County District Judge will make a ruling. The inevitable situation will not improve with Donald Trump, and his disaster of appointed cabinet members enter The White House. We must be resilient in our efforts. Show the American Public eminent domain is unacceptable for Big Oil’s corporate profits.

We’re asking SuitUp Nation members to step up! Let’s do our best to force the media to expose the truth to North America. Big oil is stealing land from farmers and no one knows. There’s a complete lack of mainstream coverage from the big news outlets such as CNN, NBC, and CBS.

We need to stop in and help end this travesty! Assist Iowa farmers to regain their land.
