“Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” — Hillary Clinton, September 5, 1995, at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing.
The Women’s March on Washington, D.C. will convene on Saturday, 10:00 am, January 21, 2017. While many #SUN members are planning to attend, some of our SuitUp Nation peeps aren’t able to get to the nation’s capital for the march. However, we can still participate!
Women in all fifty states can march in one of the 93 Sister Marches currently scheduled to occur on January 21st. Even those overseas can participate! Across the globe, ten international Sister Marches are also planned for the same date.
“We need to be working together in a coherent, supportive way over the next four years, to activate more women into leadership positions, to be more politically active,” Bob Bland, one of the organizers, told Reuters. “We cannot allow ourselves to give up, put our heads down, and not hold this administration accountable for any violation of human rights or women’s rights.”
The official Women’s March on Washington webpage has links to all 103 Sister Marches, domestic and abroad. Join a Sister March in your area to add your voices to the millions of women who will not be silenced.
